Snellville Days

This May 2nd and 3rd, Snellville, Georgia celebrates 47 years with its annual Snellville Days Arts & Crafts Festival in Briscoe Park. Snellville is a 10 square mile suburb east of metro-Atlanta. It's home to almost 20,000 people, according to the United States census estimate.

Snellville is a quaint city offering a relaxed lifestyle—not your hustle-bustle living of an urban environment. The major shopping strips are along Scenic Highway (GA 124) on both sides of Ronald Reagan Parkway, extending north to Webb Gin House Rd SW and along Stone Mountain Highway (US 78) which becomes Main Street at GA 124.  They include Snellville Plaza Shopping Center, Presidential Commons and the more upscale The Shoppes at Webb Ginn.  There you'll find familiar stores like Target and Bed Bath & Beyond, many chain eateries like Bonefish Grill, O'Charleys and Olive Garden, your major home improvement stores, Lowes and Home Depot, and grocery chains such as Kroger, Publix and Aldi's.

Snellville is a commutable distance, at about 25 miles into midtown Atlanta or Alpharetta--two major employment centers.  Snellville also has affordable housing for home buyers, from the low $100Ks.  In fact, 17% of the 204 active, detached single family residential listings are priced at $200K or less, according to FMLS (2/12/20).

For those with more expensive taste, the price range goes up to just shy of a million, according to today's FMLS search results.  A mid-price point home in the Madison Heights subdivision with about 4600 sq feet, just east of Stone Mountain Park and clocking 36 minutes into midtownAtlanta (non-rush hour), is on the market now.       Scaling up even more to the near million dollar price point is a fabulous three story, 9300 sq ft home off Ronald Reagan Parkway.

Lastly, the Niche Report assesses Snellville's schools as A-, which is quite strong.  So with the excellent schools, reasonable commutes to key employment magnets, affordable housing and an overall family conducive setting, Snellville is one of my cities of choice for metro-Atlanta.
